The Palms Casino Resort is proud to announce the return of Las Vegas musical darlings, Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns. The popular group will perform Monday nights in The Lounge beginning July 5, 2010 at 10:30 p.m.
For 30 years, Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns has been one of Las Vegas’ crown jewels with their “soul” purpose being “let the healing begin” with a seamless blend of funk, Latin, rock and jazz.
Founder and fearless leader Jerry Lopez describes the objective of Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns as making music that has moved, inspired and challenged the musicians of the group while avoiding restrictions and boundaries that come along with every other paying gig. Lopez’ Fat City Horns has been a staple in the music scene of Las Vegas since the ’70s playing to packed houses of music lovers and fellow esteemed musicians alike.
The rhythm section is made up of Jerry Lopez on lead guitar and vocals, alongside his brother Lenny Lopez on vocals and percussion, Tony Davich and Tyriq Johnson on vocals, Rochon Westmoreland on bass, Jamie Hosmer on keyboards and vocals, Gabriel Santana Falcon on percussion, Jose “Pepe” Jimenez on drums and Dave Richardson on keyboards and handling arrangements.
The six-man Fat City Horns ensemble includes Rob Mader on tenor sax, Phil Wigfall on alto sax, Jerry Merra on baritone sax, Gil Kaupp and Danny Falcone on trumpet and Nathan Tanouye on trombone and handling arrangements.
With the release of their first studio album, When the Curtain Goes Up the group is ready to show Las Vegas what it’s been missing.
Cover charge for Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns is $10 for VIP seating (booths and tables) and $5 General Admission.
