Voodoo Beach’s rockin’ summer concert series returns to the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino in 2009. The poolside shows will take place one Thursday per month from May through September. Free and open to the public, based on capacity, guests must be 18 and older with valid ID.
Here’s the scheduled lineup:
Thursday, May 21 – Spin Doctors.
Spin Doctors is a jam band best known for their hits “Two Princes” and “Little Miss Can’t be Wrong.”
Thursday, June 11 – Cracker
Cracker is an alternative rock band that mixes influences and sounds ranging from classic country music, psychedelia, punk and folk into their brand of “Americana” style rock. They are best known for the hit songs “Low,” “Eurotrash Girl,” “Get Off This” and “Teen Angst (What the World Needs Now).”
Thursday, July 30 – Toad the Wet Sprocket
Toad the Wet Sprocket is an alternative rock band best known for their hits “All I Want” and “Walk on the Ocean.”
Thursday, August 27 – Nine Days and Marcy Playground
Nine Days is a rock/pop band that had two hits in early 2000 with “Absolutely (Story of a Girl)” and “If I Am.” Marcy Playground is an alternative rock band that is best known for the hit “Sex and Candy.”
Thursday, September 24 – The Presidents of the USA and The Ataris
The Presidents of the USA is an alternative rock band that has received two Grammy nominations. The group is best known for their hits “Kitty” and ” Lump” while “Cleveland Rocks” was chosen as the theme song for “The Drew Carey Show.” The Ataris is a pop punk band best known for their 2003 remake of Don Henley’s “The Boys of Summer.” The group is slated to release a new studio album this summer.
All shows are scheduled to start at 9 p.m., doors open at 7:30 p.m.
