The City of Henderson, in partnership with the Korean Cultural Center in Los Angeles and Korean Foundation, will host the first-ever Korean Cultural Day 2010, October 14 at 7 p.m. at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water Street, in the Water Street District. The program will feature over 10 performances by dancers and musicians on tour from Korea for a limited engagement in the United States. Admission is complimentary.

“We are honored to be only one of two cities in the United States selected to host these talented performers,” said Andrea Primo, Director of the Cultural Arts & Tourism Department. “This is a great opportunity for the community to participate in the cultural exchange to better understand and appreciate the many aspects of the Korean culture.”

Korean Cultural Day 2010 will include traditional and modern Korean music and dances, elaborate and elegant Korean costumes, as well as Taekwondo demonstrations. Additionally, guests will enjoy a special performance by one of Korea’s most famous hip hop dancers and world-renown poppers of the b-boy/breakdance leagues, “Poppin Hyun Joon”, who is recognized, internationally, for his “popping & locking”, ticking, animation and many other dance moves.
