The band will dedicate the encore portion of their hit-filled performance to millions of viewers nationwide from the heart of downtown Las Vegas on Sunday, September 6.

Iconic music supergroup Three Dog Night is set to perform during the final weekend of the Fremont Street Experience‘s “Summer of ’69: Vegas or Bust” festival and summer concert series celebrating the sounds and history of the epic year in American culture. “This is actually the third time we’ve performed for the MDA telethon,” said Cory Wells, founding member of Three Dog Night. “We performed in the 70s and the 90s and are excited to be part of it now in 2009. In the telethon’s 44th year, just as we enter our 40th year as a band, we feel privileged to once again support Jerry’s Kids.”

The 44th annual MDA Telethon is hosted by MDA National Chairman and Telethon star Jerry Lewis, with co-hosts Jann Carl, Nancy O’Dell, Alison Sweeney, Ace Young and Billy Gilman. In addition to Three Dog Night, this year’s entertainment line-up includes Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Wynonna, Joshua Bell, Five For Fighting, Train, Bo Bice, WAR, Tony Orlando, Charo, Terry Fator, comedian George Wallace, Lee Greenwood and many more.

The MDA Telethon starts on Sunday, September 6 at 6 p.m. PST and runs through 3:30 p.m. PST on Labor Day, Monday, September 7. Fans of the band, everyone attending the Three Dog Night concert as well as those enjoying Labor Day weekend in Las Vegas are urged to support Jerry’s Kids and the work that MDA is doing to end the deadly disease.
