The Marnell family is bringing their Italian Festival tradition – with a few added twists – to the M Resort Spa Casino. Remembered by frequent visitors of the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino as a day of Italian food, fun and entertainment for the whole family, the Festival will be held on Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. poolside at the Villaggio Del Sole. Admission is free to the public.

The Italian Festival takes popular restaurants and vendors, mixes them together with exciting entertainment and adds a dash of tantalizing wines creating the perfect recipe for fun. Guests can sample Italian delicacies like calzones, pizza, sausage and pepper sandwiches and various specialties prepared by local restaurants and the M Resort’s world-renowned chefs. Over-the-top desserts can also be sampled with favorites like cheesecake, cannoli, biscotti, Italian ices, spumoni and the ever-popular fried dough.

Roving magicians, jugglers, and musicians will entertain guests and signature contests include spaghetti eating and grape stomping. Bocce tournaments will also available for guests and children can enjoy free face painting, colorful balloons and more. Guests can sample a variety of fine wines accompanied by an assortment of cheese and fruits, plus fresh-baked breads from the M Resort’s patisserie Baby Cakes at the Wine and Cheese Terrace.

First begun by the Marnell family 17 years ago at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, the Italian Festival was a locals’ favorite, attracting thousands of people over the course of the two-day event.

“The Italian Festival means a great deal to my family and I’m looking forward to starting a new tradition with it here at the M. We’re lining up top-notch, authentic vendors and our own M chefs know how to do Italian. I hope people bring their whole family, enjoy great Italian food and entertainment in an unbelievable setting,” said Anthony A. Marnell III, Chairman and CEO of the M Resort.

Tickets to purchase food items will be available during the Festival at the ticket booths located in the Festival area. All food items are priced at $7 or less and the cost is $1 per ticket. For vendor or sponsorship opportunities, contact Marti Williams at 702.797.1564.
