Jimmie Ray and Cyndi Cantrell bring their Ring of Fire band to the Charleston Heights Arts Center for a tribute to the life and legend of Johnny Cash and his wife June Carter Cash on Sunday, Nov. 2. Ray and Cantrell sing fan favorites, such as “Folsom Prison Blues” and “We Got Married in a Fever,” as they take their audience on a journey through Cash’s life. The arts center, which is operated by the Arts & Community Events Division of the city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services, features one of the city’s finest dance floors. International folk dancing is held every Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. Contra dancing is offered on Saturdays twice a month from 7 to 10 p.m., with group lessons at 6:30 p.m. Several big band dances are offered throughout the year and numerous other programs are presented. Coming up Dec. 5-14, the Rainbow Company Youth Theatre will present the comedy musical “Cinderella” at the center. Dec. 20, the Razzle Bam Boom Family Christmas Show will entertain all ages with a holiday musical extravaganza.
