Fremont Street Experience takes Las Vegas guests back 40 years with the “Woodstock TributePalooza: 40th Anniversary of Woodstock” starting Friday, August 14 through Sunday, August 16.

“Woodstock TributePalooza: 40th Anniversary of Woodstock” will relive that historic music festival from August 1969. Fremont Street Experience will bring the best tribute artists from around the country to Las Vegas to pay homage to Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Who, Joe Cocker, The Grateful Dead and CCR from Friday, August 14 through Sunday, August 16. Performers will take the crowd back to three legendary days of peace and music.

“Cry Baby: A Tribute to Janis Joplin” is a musical persona of Janis Joplin, taking audiences back to the true rock ‘n’ roll of the ’60s. The band features Cara Lee as Janis Joplin, who treats audiences to the recreated voice, look and raw energy and stage presence that made Janis a legend. “Cry Baby: A Tribute to Janis Joplin” celebrates the music and presence of a woman who changed the face of female rock and blues music forever and continues to influence generations of fans today.

The unmistakable and popular sound of Creedence Clearwater Revival is reproduced by Randy Linder using the same energy and passion of the original group when Randy attended his first concert in 1969 and saw their show live. Randy has been a performer for over thirty years and his vocal style, lead guitar and blues harp was greatly influenced by John Fogerty. The show includes the greatest hits that came from Creedence Clearwater Revival. Randy Linder – A Tribute to Creedence Clearwater Revival offers an opportunity to hear the songs of one of rock and roll’s greatest bands performed with the commitment that the songwriter intended.

Always instilling his love for music, Byron Bordeaux began touring the world with Buddy Miles, best known as the drummer for Jimi Hendrix in 1997. On his road of performing, Byron has been the opening act for artists such as B.B. King, Michael McDonald, James Ingram, Starship and the Sunshine Band, to name a few. In 2000, Byron began performing his tribute to Jimi Hendrix throughout the U.S. Byron currently tours with Otis Day and the Knights from the movie Animal House and has a classic rock band Bulls Eye, based out of Las Vegas, where he resides.

Dead Ahead is a band dedicated to carrying on the music and the voice of the legendary Grateful Dead. Founded in 1991 as a local St. Louis-based Dead tribute, the group began touring after the 1995 death of Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia, and has played more than 2,300 shows in 18 states, with an average of 150 shows a year and a working repertoire of over 200 songs. The group consists of members Shawn Guyot, guitar and vocals; Nate Carpenter, Hammond organ, piano and vocals; and Cannon DeWeese, drums. Dead Ahead is an established group that has attracted such prominent members of the jam-band community to sit in on their sets such as Merl Saunders, the late Johnny Johnson, Mike Gordon of Phish and Chuck Berry, to name a few. Like the Dead, Dead Ahead operates without set lists and gives audiences improvisation and spontaneity with their live performances.

Alan Kaye began singing and performed stand-up comedy in 1976, and as Joe Cocker’s opening act, was honored to be able to study Joe up close and personal. In order to accurately portray such an incredible star personality, Alan perfected his vocal approach, phrasing, attitude and physical appearance to mimic Joe in concert. Alan’s experience, dedication to performing and attention to detail have resulted in a seamless performance that has amazed and delighted thousands of spectators. Alan continues to tour across the U.S. and Canada bringing great acclaim from fans and critics alike.

The Wholigans concentrates on the Live at Leeds era of The Who, but their set list contains a majority of the most popular material from The Who’s catalogue from day one until the untimely death of Keith Moon. From their stage clothes to capturing the mannerisms of The Who, The Wholigans bring back memories of a Who yesteryear which has to be seen to be believed. With the thrashing windmills of Pete Townshend to the microphone-swinging of Roger Daltrey and incredible drumming style of Keith Moon, The Wholigans seem to have captured the total package that is The Who. The band continues to tour bringing back The Who’s favorites to fans.
