The hot days of summer and early fall are the perfect time to explore the arts in the air-conditioned comfort of the cultural centers of the city of Las Vegas.  Opportunities are offered for all ages to learn a variety of dance styles — tango, hip hop, salsa, ballet folklorico, swing, hula, ballet and many more; a wide range of instrumental and vocal music; theatre; ceramics/pottery; Raku firing; and visual arts. Classes are value priced and affordable for the entire family. Experienced instructors will guide you as you try your hand at weaving, painting, drawing or throwing a pot. Learn to sculpt in clay, dance new steps, take private singing lessons, or play rondalla, guitar, keyboards or even African drums.

In addition to arts, the West Las Vegas Arts Center also offers Tae Kwon Do and the Rites of Passage mentoring programs for boys and girls. The East Las Vegas Community/Senior Center has many classes offering bilingual instruction, as well as computer lessons, English and Spanish language classes, artist workshops and a Scout merit badge class in pottery. All the centers have art galleries with rotating exhibits and free admission.
