Here’s the list of promotions at the El Cortez Hotel and Casino in downtown Las Vegas for July 2009:
Free Play Frenzy Up to $1,000 Awarded to Jackpot Winners between July 1-31
For the month of July, Club Cortez players winning a jackpot of $200 or more on a slot machine, a $200 or more jackpot on a video poker five-cent or lower denomination machine, a $300 or more jackpot on a video poker ten-cent or high denomination machine, or a $200 or more jackpot on live keno will receive a prize ticket redeemable for an envelope containing $10 to 1,000 in free play. All jackpot winners receive an entry into the weekly Saturday night 40” LCD HDTV giveaway and $2,000 cash prize drawing. Free White Castle Burgers for the Fourth of July
In honor of the Fourth of July, the El Cortez is offering free White Castle Burgers to players. The promotion allows Club Cortez members to enjoy free burgers while they play slots and table games. The complimentary burgers will be served from noon to 6 p.m.
Hoobastank Performs at Rock the Block – July 4
Hoobastank brings the party downtown when it takes to the stage at Rock the Block this Fourth of July in the Fremont East Entertainment District. Tickets to Rock the Block can now be purchased by visiting www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets are on sale for $15 in advance and $20 day of the event at the door. All tickets are general admission. Rock the Block is sponsored by the El Cortez Hotel & Casino, Miller Lite, Mix 94.1 and X107.5. The El Cortez offers free parking with over 1,200 spaces in its garage and valet.
Celebrity Jam Session by Huck Daniels Now Performing Saturday Nights
The El Cortez Hotel and Casino hosts talented rhythm guitarist Huck Daniels as he brings his weekly celebrity Jam Session to the property every Saturday at 8 p.m., 10 p.m. and midnight. Daniels performs inside the El Cortez’s Fiesta Room, the property’s newly renovated banquet center. The Jam Session features Daniels and his six-member jam band along with occasional appearances by other famous musicians. Daniels’ specialty is a mix of genres including R&B, Motown, classic rock and roll, and country. The celebrity Jam Session is a free weekly event at the El Cortez with a one drink minimum. The property also offers free parking with over 1,200 spaces in its garage and valet.
Las Vegas Farmers Market at Fremont East District – Fridays 4-8 p.m.
The Las Vegas Farmers Market comes to downtown Las Vegas every Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and is located between Las Vegas Blvd. and Sixth Street. The weekly farmers market features more than 20 vendors bringing the freshest foods for purchase, including fruits, vegetables, a large variety of breads and pastries, pasta, salad mix, fresh cut flowers and bedding plants. The El Cortez Hotel and Casino offers approximately 1,200 free parking spaces and is among the Fremont East Entertainment District sponsors. Club Cortez players have an opportunity every week to win $500, $300, $200 or $100 in promotional chips. During the week, entry tickets in the drawing can be earned during blackjack, roulette and baccarat. During blackjack, tickets are distributed to players when the dealer receives a blackjack, during roulette, tickets are distributed to players when a 0 or 00 is hit, and during baccarat, players receive a ticket every time a “tie” hand is dealt. Double tickets will be given to players every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Players can only win one prize per drawing. There is no limit to the number of entries a player may submit.
