Jackpot Winners Choose Between Free El Cortez Logo Poker Sets and Winning Wallets, May 1-31
For the month of May, Club Cortez players winning a jackpot of $200 or more on a slot machine, a $200 or more jackpot on a video poker five-cent or lower denomination machine, a $300 or more jackpot on a video poker ten-cent or high denomination machine, or a $200 or more jackpot on live keno will receive a prize ticket redeemable for their choice of either one El Cortez logo poker set or a winning wallet (while supplies last). Winning wallets contain $10 to $1,000 dollars in free play. All jackpot winners receive an entry into the weekly Saturday night 40″ LCD HDTV giveaway and $2,000 cash prize drawing. Celebrity Jam Session by Huck Daniels –Monday nights 10 p.m-2 a.m.
The El Cortez Hotel and Casino welcomes talented rhythm guitarist Huck Daniels as he brings his weekly celebrity Jam Session to the property every Monday from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. beginning April 27. Daniels will perform inside the El Cortez’s Fiesta Room, the property’s newly renovated banquet center. The Jam Session will feature Daniels and his six-member jam band along with occasional appearances by other famous musicians. Daniels’ specialty is a mix of genres including R&B, Motown, classic rock and roll, and country. The celebrity Jam Session is a free weekly event at the El Cortez with a two drink minimum. The property also offers free parking with over 1,200 spaces in its garage and valet.
Las Vegas Farmers Market at Fremont East District – Fridays 4-8 p.m. (grand opening May 1)
The Las Vegas Farmers Market comes to downtown Las Vegas every Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and is located between Las Vegas Blvd. and Sixth Street. The grand opening event for the Las Vegas Farmers Market is scheduled for Friday, May 1 and includes an appearance by Mayor Oscar Goodman. The weekly farmers market will feature more than 20 vendors bringing the freshest foods for purchase, including fruits, vegetables, a large variety of breads and pastries, pasta, salad mix, fresh cut flowers and bedding plants. The El Cortez Hotel and Casino offers approximately 1,200 free parking spaces and is among the Fremont East Entertainment District sponsors. Free Daily Slot Tournament – now automated 24 hours a day
Any Club Cortez member earning 500 Club Points in a single day is eligible to play in the daily slot tournament the following day. Available 24 hours a day, players insert their Club Cortez card in any tournament machine, play the session and check their standing beginning at 10 a.m. the following day. Highest daily tournament point winner receives $250, the second highest receives $150 and the third highest $100. Free Play For Government Check Cashing

Idaho Trout Special – beginning May 15
Beginning May 15, The Flame Steakhouse features Idaho trout flown in fresh weekly for the Friday and Saturday night dinner special. Idaho trout special is only $14.95.

Café Cortez serves a limited graveyard menu Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Weekly High Noon “Wheel And Deal” Drawing
Club Cortez players have an opportunity every week to win $500, $300, $200 or $100 in promotional chips. During the week, entry tickets in the drawing can be earned during blackjack, roulette and baccarat. During blackjack, tickets are distributed to players when the dealer receives a blackjack, during roulette, tickets are distributed to players when a 0 or 00 is hit, and during baccarat, players receive a ticket every time a “tie” hand is dealt. Double tickets will be given to players every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Players can only win one prize per drawing. There is no limit to the number of entries a player may submit.
