Comedian magician Mac King has teamed up with Borders and Town Square Las Vegas to host a book drive for National Reading Month that will benefit children from Child Haven’s Through the Eyes of a Child Foundation. All Borders locations in the Las Vegas Valley will be collecting new books now through April 24.

To kick off the book drive, King will host a reading and magic event on Wednesday, March 11 at 11 a.m. during Town Square’s weekly Storytime in the Square. The event is open to the public, and several children will be on hand from the Through the Eyes of a Child Foundation. Children who attend the event and donate a book will receive one complimentary ticket to the Mac King Comedy Magic Show at Harrah’s Las Vegas.

Additionally, patrons who donate a book at Borders at Town Square will receive a two-for-one ticket offer to the Mac King Comedy Magic Show. The Borders book drive is part of its citywide Baxter the Bunny book drive that will support the Through the Eyes of a Child Foundation. Through the Eyes of a Child Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, provides cultural, athletic and educational scholarships to abused, abandoned and neglected children who are current or former residents of the emergency shelter Child Haven.

Patrons can purchase a Baxter the Bunny plush animal at Borders for $5.99 (a $12.99 value) with the purchase of any three items. Shoppers can donate any or all of the books they purchase or even the Baxter bunny. Town Square is located at 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
