The City of Henderson announces the lineup for the ArtBeat Presented by Target cultural arts series. The featured performing acts for the month of June include the Henderson Symphony Orchestra; Grammy-nominated group, Linda Tillery & the Cultural Heritage Choir; famed 1980s synthpop group, Naked Eyes; and jazz pianist Michael Kaeshammer. All four shows will take place at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water Street, in the Water Street District with performances beginning at 8 p.m. Admission is FREE.

Under the direction of Conductor Taras Krysa, the Henderson Symphony Orchestra presents Concert Series IV: Light Classics Under the Stars. A pre-show discussion will take place one hour prior to the concert.
Linda Tillery & the Cultural Heritage Choir

Get funky with Linda Tillery & the Cultural Heritage Choir as they embark on an illuminating and spirited musical journey through African American history and traditions. The Grammy-nominated quartet will present a show that highlights an array of dynamic rhythms and vocals, derived from the Deep South and strongly connected to the origins of West African and Caribbean music.
Linda Tillery & the Cultural Heritage Choir have been performing together since 1992. Through song, dance and story, the Choir have become world-renowned for their breathtaking and uplifting performances, as well as their commitment to the authenticity of African American roots music.
Naked Eyes

As the pioneers of synthesized-pop music, Naked Eyes became popular in the 1980s. Surviving member, Pete Byrne, will perform the Top 10 hit, “Always Something There to Remind Me,” as well as other memorable melodies like “Promises Promises” and “When the Lights Go Out.” He is currently working on the next Naked Eyes electric album, Piccadilly, and will debut new music at this summer concert.
Michael Kaeshammer
June 25 at 8 p.m.

Performer, singer and pianist, Michael Kaeshammer, will entertain audiences with an energetic show that marries improvisational humor and a soulful voice with the exciting sounds of boogie woogie and jazz tunes. Kaeshammer is known for using his creative imagination, youthfulness and skill to produce, not only, a magical live show, but six incredible albums that have a hint of jazz, blues, pop and country musical influences, as well as catchy lyrics.
Kaeshammer’s most recent album, Lovelight, received a Juno Award nomination. He also received awards for “Best Pianist/Keyboardist of the Year” and “Best Original Composition” for “Isabelle”, a gorgeous ballad found on Lovelight, at the 2010 Smooth Jazz Awards.
