First Friday showcases Las Vegas‘ best artists in downtown’s Fremont East Entertainment District on Friday, Aug. 7 from 6 to 10 p.m. The monthly art exhibition is held on the first Friday of each month, and the El Cortez Hotel & Casino is an official trolley stop for event visitors at its Cortez Garden Gateway.
Those enjoying First Friday activities keep the festivities going with the El Cortez’s First Friday After Party drink special that includes $5 martinis at all of its casino bars from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Guests can also enjoy a hand of blackjack with some of downtown’s most beautiful dealers at the property’s Party Pit from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. (Party Pit is open weekly every Friday and Saturday night).
The El Cortez offers approximately 1,200 free parking spaces and is among the Fremont East Entertainment District sponsors.
Downtown visitors can also enjoy the weekly Las Vegas Farmers Market located between Las Vegas Blvd. and Sixth Street every Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. The farmers market features more than 20 vendors bringing the freshest foods for purchase, including fruits, vegetables, a large variety of breads and pastries, pasta, salad mix, fresh cut flowers and bedding plants and more.
