What: Roland, the world leader in electronic percussion, will host the Roland V-Drums® Contest National Finals at Sam Ash Music in Las Vegas. The event will feature an opening performance by Blue Man Group and is co-sponsored by Blue Man Group, REMO, Drum Workshop and DRUM! magazine.

Details: Roland will host six talented drummers from around the country to perform an original drum performance exclusively on the TD-20SX V-Pro® Series V-Drums and the OCTAPAD® SPD-30 Percussion Pad. Roland’s electronic percussion instruments not only give drummers acoustic-like responsiveness and sensitivity, they also inspire creativity and expression with a wide range of quality acoustic and electronic drum and percussion sounds, and a high level of customization.
The grand prize winner will receive a top of the line TD-20SX V-Drums Kit, complete with amplification, hardware and custom shell wraps, courtesy of Roland, Drum Workshop, and REMO, Inc.
In addition to Blue Man Group, there will be other guest performances by Thomas Lang and Johnny Rabb. Lang, originally from Vienna, Austria and with numerous international live and recording credits, is known for his stunning multi-pedal orchestrations, powerful drumming style and incredible technique. Rabb, a Chicago-based live and studio drummer, clinician, and author, has performed and recorded with numerous artists, and his unique freehand technique and creative use of electronic percussion continue to wow audiences worldwide.
