Kerry Simon Says… “Santa. ‘Tis the Season to Share.”

WHAT:

Guests of all ages are invited to get into the holiday spirit at Simon at Palms Place for an afternoon filled with family fun activities including meet and greets with Santa, gingerbread cookie decorating and festive music combined with Chef Simon’s seasonal favorite bites. Chef Simon will be serving his famous mac n’ cheese, tea sandwiches, holiday junk food platters, cranberry mojitos for the parents, sushi, hot cocoa and more. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Communities in Schools of Southern Nevada, an organization to help young people successfully learn, stay in school and prepare for life.

Performers Raise Money to Cover Medical Costs

WHAT: Grant Griffin, The Showbiz Society, and local  entertainers will gather for a fundraiser to aid fellow  performer Jeneane Marie with medical costs on Sunday,  Dec. 5 2010,  at the Las Vegas Rocks Café from 2 to 4 p.m.

For more than 30 years,  Marie has been giving to Las Vegas through her wonderful personality and talent.  Besides doing her own show,  Marie has been the opening act for Frank Sinatra,  Dean Martin,  Don Rickles, and toured with Wayne Newton, and The Funk Bros, to name just a few.   She has guest starred in countless shows and was once considered the “Queen of Las Vegas.”

Marie now needs the community’s support and assistance from her public and fellow thespians. Marie has Avascular Necrosis – Hip Replacement because her groin area has no blood flow. In constant pain, her hip has degenerated and she is subject to blood clots.  Ultimately,  surgery is a must and she has no medical insurance or money.

An endless array of stars such as Steve Rossi, Wayne Newton Rich Little, Clint Holmes, Babe Pier, Denise Clemente, Laurie Caceres, Grant Griffin and countless more backed by the Jerry Lopez Band will be attending and giving their talent and support for this worthy event.

Fremont Street Experience will host the Ultimate Elvis Weekend as part of “Summer of the ’70s” festival. On Friday, July 23 and Saturday, July 24 the Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc.–sanctioned preliminary round of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest will take place for the first time in Las Vegas. Over 20 Elvis competitors will don their blue suede shoes in front of guest judges for a chance to compete in Memphis for the national title.

At midnight on Friday and Saturday, visitors to Fremont Street Experience can participate in a group vow renewal wedding ceremony. “The Midnight Mass” will be conducted by “Elvis” in front of the 1st Street Stage. From midnight to 2 a.m. Elvis fans can sing their favorite classics at Elvis Karaoke on Main Street Stage. Finally, fans will have a chance to win the Ultimate Elvis Giveaway where two lucky winners will win a trip to Graceland in Memphis or on an Elvis–themed cruise.
