Free Las Vegas “Jazz On The Green” Concert With Brian Bromberg

Everyone is invited to enjoy the “Jazz on the Green” concert Saturday, June 12, featuring acclaimed jazz bass player Brian Bromberg with the Fat City Horns. The free concert begins at 7 p.m. in the Centennial Hills Park Amphitheatre, located at 7101 N. Buffalo Drive, near Deer Springs Way.

Bromberg has earned a reputation as one of the most versatile and respected straight ahead and contemporary jazz musicians today. He has recorded 17 albums, which include more than eight Top 10 hits, some of which he composed and produced. The Fat City Horns have played together in Las Vegas for many years. WHAT:
Join The Village Lake Las Vegas for an intimate evening lakeside with Annie Meadows. As part of the “Friday Night Live” free concert series Meadows will perform the first half of the evening solo and then will be joined by a full band.

Meadows, a former rock singer, tours the country bringing a message of hope and encouragement to her audiences. She moves easily between contemporary and traditional styles and has performed with artists such as Jars of Clay, Michael O’Brian, Darrell Mansfield and many more.

Guests are encouraged to bring a low-back chair or blanket to the performance. No coolers please.

Celebrate Mother’s Day At Artfest Of Henderson – Admission Is Free

FREE art fair includes over 100 artists, live music, kids’ activities and chalk art masterpieces.

ArtFest™ of Henderson has been a Mother’s Day weekend tradition for 13 years. The event will include over 100 select artisan and crafter booths, displaying and selling a variety of artwork including paintings, ceramics, jewelry and photography. Other family-friendly activities include two stages of live entertainment, food vendors and a Kids’ Gallery, an interactive area where children can participate in several arts and crafts activities, bounce houses and train rides. Additionally, a new section, entitled Made in Nevada, has been added to this year’s street fair. Made in Nevada supports the local arts community, allowing resident artists the opportunity to showcase their talents.

The Rotary Club of Green Valley returns for a second year with Piazza Colori, a version of an Italian street painting festival. More than 80 local amateur and professional artists, individuals, families, cultural organizations and companies will create chalk art masterpieces during the two-day event.

G.L.O. Festival Joins First Friday Las Vegas (R) Events May 7

A Celebration Of Light, Art, Music & Performance Will Take Place In The Downtown Las Vegas Arts District

The city of Las Vegas will present the Global Light Objects (G.L.O) Festival as part of First Friday on May 7 from 6 to 10 p.m. in the downtown Arts District. This free event, a celebration of light, visual arts, music, performance and great company, will take place along with other regularly scheduled events of First Friday Las Vegas, presented monthly by Whirlygig, Inc. On South Casino Center Boulevard, between Charleston Boulevard and East California Street, the G.L.O. Festival highlights will include:

Artist invitational exhibitions by Anthony Bondi, Denise Duarte, Miguel Rodriguez, Todd Von Bastiaans and K. D. Matheson;

Improv on the street with a special appearance by the Steam Powered Giraffes, a roving musical pantomime;

“10 Years of Burning Man,” a street-side film screening at dusk on the giant screen;

A remembrance of the Las Vegas Centennial’s 100 Mural Project of five years ago; and

The Spontaneous G.L.O. Parade – join a glowing conga line wearing your best light costume.

Additional festival activities on Boulder Plaza at Main Street and Boulder Avenue will include:

Bobby is a Commercial photographer specializing in artistic glamour portraiture.  He is currently shooting two separate coffee table book projects featuring Las Vegas and Southern California models and entertainers.

Barley’s Brewing Company Hosts Seventh Annual Brewfest

Barley’s Casino & Brewing Company is hosting its seventh annual Brewfest on Saturday, May 15 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The festival showcases beers from all over the world including Buckbean Brewing Company, Boulder Dam Brewing Company, Gordon Biersch, Stone Brewing Company, Tenaya Creek, Chicago Brewing Company, Czechvar, Bosteel and Kokanee, among others. Barley’s is serving up three different brews including a special surprise brew created by Brewmaster Jim Wilson just for the event. The Brewfest takes place outside on the patio and courtyard, the perfect place for guests to sample beer from more than 30 different breweries or purchase cocktails from the full bar.

In addition to the selection of unique craft brews, there is live music throughout the day.  DJ Ron Ferraro is spinning from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. followed by local bands Otherwise, Kil Jaden and Noise Media from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. A $5 sandwich menu featuring barbeque pulled pork, smoked beef brisket, hot link sausage, half-pound burgers and bratwurst sausage is available as well.
