Eastside Cannery Casino & Hotel will celebrate its two-year anniversary during the month of August. The “Canniversary” celebration will officially kick off on Sunday, August 1 with free cupcakes and champagne in Marilyn’s Lounge from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. “Canniversary” events include a performance by Grammy Award-winning Brian McKnight on Saturday, August 21 in the Casablanca Event Center; a special casino player event on Friday, August 27 starring Rich Little and gaming promotions and giveaways throughout the month.

“We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate our two-year ‘Canniversary,’ and though the official anniversary date is August 28 we decided to celebrate throughout the entire month to show our guests our appreciation,” said Marty Gross, vice president and general manager of Eastside Cannery Casino & Resort. “We encourage everyone to come and enjoy all the events and promotions we have planned for August. It’s going to be an exciting month!”

Free Cake and Champagne Celebrations
Eastside Cannery Casino & Hotel will treat guests to free cake and champagne twice in August. Free cupcakes and champagne will be available in Marilyn’s Lounge on Sunday, August 1 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. to launch the “Canniversary” festivities. On Saturday, August 28 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., free cake and champagne will be served in Marilyn’s Lounge to commemorate Eastside Cannery’s official two-year anniversary.

“Canniversary Cooler” Cocktail
Eastside Cannery Casino & Hotel will offer the signature drink of the “Canniversary,” the “Canniversary Cooler” at all casino bars throughout the month of August. The “Canniversary Cooler” is a refreshing blend of Smirnoff Raspberry Vodka, Sierra Mist and cranberry juice served over ice and garnished with a cherry and slice of lime served in a souvenir Hurricane Glass for $2.

Brian McKnight Concert
Grammy Award winning R&B musician and TV personality Brian McKnight will perform in the Casablanca Event Center on Saturday, August 21 at 8 p.m. Tickets are available in three levels: Gold $59.95, Prime $49.95 and Reserved $39.95. The longest-running band in Las Vegas history delivers their signature blend of “industrial strength” R&B, rock, soul and funk in Marilyn’s Lounge every night from Friday, August 27 through Sunday, August 29. The Lon Bronson Band plays on Friday, August 27 and Saturday, August 28 from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. and Sunday, August 29 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

VIP Dinner Show Starring Rich Little (Invited Guests Only)

Sammy Shore

Sammy Shore changed standup comedy forever when he founded The Comedy Store in Hollywood, providing a stage for some of the biggest names in entertainment such as Richard Pryor, Johnny Carson, David Letterman and Whoopi Goldberg. In a career spanning more than 50 years, Shore has shared the stage with numerous comedians and musicians including Bob Hope, Mel Brooks, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Tony Bennett and spent four years as the opening act for Elvis Presley’s “Comeback Tour.”

Dennis Blair

Dennis Blair is an Emmy Award winning comedic actor, screenwriter, songwriter and author. Having appeared on “The Tonight Show” several times, Blair is best known for his live comedy performances and musical satires. He received an Emmy Award for his voiceovers and writing in the animated film “Confessions of a Standup.” Early in his career, Blair learned from Rodney Dangerfield co-writing for his movies, ABC specials and comedy album “Rappin’ Rodney” which was nominated for a Grammy Award. Blair has released a book and two standup comedy albums. He has opened for Tom Jones, The Beach Boys, Joan Rivers, Gloria Estefan, George Carlin and more. Blair headlines in comedy clubs, corporate events and continues to open for celebrities.

Dean Napolitano

Known as a unique storyteller who shares hilarious stories about his Italian up-bringing, Napolitano delivers comedy through personal experiences. He has appeared on “The Late Late Show” with Craig Fergusson on CBS and first started in the comedy scene working for clubs throughout Florida and the Midwest. Beginning August 22, Eastside Cannery Casino & Hotel will feature “Classic Rock Saturdays” with Strange Brew, a high-powered band sure to get patrons up and dancing. Music begins at 9 p.m. and continues until 1 a.m. inside ONE SIX Sky Lounge on the sixteenth floor of Eastside Cannery. To quench your thirst, Eastside will also offer its very own “Strange Brew” inspired libation. Admission is free, so come down and “rock the top” with great music, fine food and drink, and the spectacular view of the Las Vegas skyline.

Strange Brew is a collection of seasoned rock musicians fused together to form a Classic Rock phenomenon which stands alone from the pack of classic rock bands that are performing today. Members have recorded and toured for many years with major rock acts and also possess full and impressive resumes of their own.
 
Lead vocalist Steve Austin Taylor has a very unique voice – a high first tenor that hardly needs a microphone. A renowned Classic Rock vocalist, he is a master of all rock styles and an intense performer. He has opened for the likes of Santana and Joe Cocker. Lead guitarist Johnny Roxx was born and raised in Southern California. Roxx has been featured in Guitar World Magazine and has performed and worked with Metallica, Black Sabbath and Warrant among many others. Dando performs as Strange Brew’s bass guitarist and also does vocals. He has performed in tours opening for Cheap Trick, April Wine and Molly Hatchet. On drums and vocals is John Freixas who has performed with Eddie Money, Alice Cooper Tears for Fears, Journey, Van Halen and Boston along with a long list of other rock greats. Brett Hansen brings talent to Strange Brew on keyboards, guitar, Classic synthesizer and through vocals. Brett has performed with REO Speedwagon, Judas Priest, Kansas and more.

Lou Ragland’s World Famous Ink Spots will take the stage at Marilyn’s Lounge inside the Eastside Cannery Casino & Hotel on Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25. Doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets are $10, available for purchase at the front desk prior to the show.

Singing tunes “If I Didn’t Care,” “I Don’t Want To Set the World On Fire,” and “We Three,” Lou Ragland’s World Famous Ink Spots continue to delight audiences with timeless sounds that have made waves for generations. Throughout his career, singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer Lou Ragland has performed with a variety of groups including George Holmes’ Ink Spots, the Tredwell Drifters Show, Seven Miles High, Billy Ward and the Dominoes, Hot Chocolate and The Great Lakes Orchestra. Highly acclaimed performer Jerry Presley will pay tribute to his cousin Elvis at Eastside Cannery Casino & Hotel in Las Vegas Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 14 – 16. Aside from sharing the same last name, Jerry and Elvis had many similarities from having an identical twin to singing gospel music at their church. Having been 15 years younger than Elvis, Jerry and his twin brother Terry looked up to their legendary relative and had fond memories of visiting Elvis at his home and joining him at the movies. Performing for more than 36 years, Jerry first gained attention for his tribute to the King when he performed at his own theater, “The King’s Mansion” in Branson, Mo., where he impressed Elvis fans with his act. A singer in his own right, he has performed with many famous artists including Jackie Wilson, The Drifters, The Platters, The Coasters, Lou Rawls, Tanya Tucker, Barbara Mandrell, Billy Dean, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, and former members of The Stamps Quartet among many other famous entertainers.
