Centennial Hills Rotary Club Hosts Charity Gold Tourmament To Benefit Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation

On Sunday November 15 the Centennial Hills Rotary Club is hosting a charity golf tournament to benefit the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation.

Free Station Casinos November 2009 House Entertainment

Station Casinos continues to entertain Las Vegas locals with a number of new weekly acts and shows at several of its properties in addition to its trademark entertainment that the city has grown to love.

New shows include southern rockers Nawgahyde performing hits from bands like ZZ Top, Grand Funk Railroad and Blue Oyster Cult every Saturday at Sunset Station. Echoes of the ’60s join the Thursday lineup at Green Valley Ranch, while Rat Pack Fridays takes over at Texas Station. Michael Grimm is no longer performing at Ovation, but guests can still enjoy his music while dining and drinking at Hank’s Fine Steaks & Martinis. Eldorado Casino To Hold 3rd Annual Poker Run October 10 Benefiting Boys And Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada

The Eldorado Casino will hold its 3rd annual October Thunder Poker Run to raise money for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada on Saturday, October 10.  Riders are invited on a 150-mile trek through Southern Nevada and into California, stopping at five locations as they build a poker hand in an attempt to win a $500 grand prize.
 
The adventure begins at Eldorado Casino in Henderson, with checkpoints at the Searchlight Nugget in Searchlight; Nipton, California; The Pioneer Saloon in Goodsprings; Henderson Harley Davidson; and finally, the finish line at Jokers Wild Casino in Henderson.
 
Following the run, participants will receive a complimentary barbeque lunch while listening to the sounds of live rock music with Tranquility Base. Still up for a party after the party? Good news – Jokers Wild will host a Casino Night Party and poker tournament, starting at 6:30 p.m. and continuing well past midnight.  Classic rock band Updog will perform at the evening party.
 
All net proceeds from the Poker Run benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada.

The Las Vegas Hawaiian Civic Club and The Village at Lake Las Vegas the host the 8th Annual Hawaiian Isles Festival and Outrigger Canoe Regatta on Saturday, Oct. 17 and Sunday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Catch the aloha spirit with a weekend full of festivities including authentic Hawaiian cuisine, crafts, art, live entertainment and the outrigger canoe competition. Teams from California, Hawaii, Arizona and more will compete in sprints on the 320-acre lake throughout the weekend.

The Hawaiian Isles Festival was created in 2001 by the Las Vegas Hawaiian Civic Club and The Village at Lake Las Vegas to share the Hawaiian spirit with the Southern Nevada community. In 2003, the Outrigger Canoe Regatta was developed to complement the Festival with races on the beautiful Lake Las Vegas.

The Doors Tribute Band, Peace Frog, Will “Break on Through” to the Cannery Casino & Hotel On August 7 2009

Peace Frog, the highly acclaimed act that pays tribute to The Doors, will return to the Cannery Casino & Hotel located in North Las Vegas on Friday, August 7 to perform a selection of hit songs from one of the most influential and popular rock groups in history. The concerts begin each night at 8 p.m. at The Club inside the Cannery Casino & Hotel. Admission is $5 at the door.
 
Peace Frog pays tribute to Jim Morrison and The Doors by recreating the magic and intensity of a Doors concert experience. Based out of Venice, California, lead singer Tony Fernandez lives out every move of Jim Morrison on stage and delivers a powerful recreation of true likeness in presence, vocals, mannerisms and spirit. Peace Frog is the drama and rock theater that made The Doors famous. With intoxicating renditions of “Hello, I Love You,” “Light My Fire,” “L.A. Woman,” “The End” and many other classic songs, Peace Frog entrances the audience and takes them on a journey to an amazing recreation of a Doors show.
