Former NBA great Michael Brown will sign autographs at the Hoop Hall Experience (HHX), the official Basketball Hall of Fame’s touring exhibit, at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas at 3 – 4 p.m. Saturday, May 30.

Towering at six feet nine inches, Brown, a former power forward and center, owned the court at George Washington University in the early 1980s, earning the nickname “The New Washington Monument.” After four years of college ball, he was selected by the Chicago Bulls in the third round of the 1985 NBA Draft. Brown played 11 seasons (1986-1997) in the NBA as a member of the Bulls, the Utah Jazz, the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Philadelphia 76ers and the Phoenix Suns before retiring with career totals of 3,130 points and 2,762 rebounds. Brown also served as an assistant coach for the Chicago Bulls for a short time primarily to work with the Bulls’ young centers and forwards.

Now, Brown has hung up his sneakers and whistle to focus on his charity, The Embracing Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development of youth. The organization focuses on preventing youth violence through outreach educational programs, drug and health awareness and group activities.

Located on the mezzanine level, the HHX is where the story of basketball comes to life in more than 17,000 square feet of fun. The Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower will host a special “National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Full Throttle Drag Racing Autograph Session” on Thursday, April 2 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The session will feature Don Schumacher Racing with Top Fuel Champion Tony Schumacher and Funny Car driver Ron Capps scheduled to appear. The NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series will be competing April 3-5 at the The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
 
The “NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Autograph Session” will take place in the Stratosphere’s casino. All drivers are scheduled to appear. The line up of drivers is subject to change.

Fremont Street Experience hosts the 2009 Knight Rider Festival on Friday, March 20 and Saturday, March 21. The event is free and open to the public.

The Knight Rider Festival kicks off at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 20 with both the original and new KITT cars followed by a ski stunt performance and opening remarks with Mayor Goodman at 6 p.m. The evening also features entertainment with Paul Casey and other special guest performers on the 1st Street Stage.

The Knight Rider Festival continues on throughout Saturday, March 21 with opening ceremonies, a VIP Q&A session and autograph signings by current and former Knight Rider celebrities. The KITT replica cars will be on display until 11 p.m.
