McCormick & Schmick’s Hosts Its 11th Annual St. Paddy’s Day Celebration

Festivities include music, green beer and traditional Irish dishes.

McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant, located at 335 Howard Hughes Center, will be hosting its 11th annual St. Paddy’s Day party on Wednesday, March 17 starting at 5 p.m.

The revelry kicks off with live music from Gary Queen from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The restaurant will be offering Irish drink specials all evening featuring pints of green beer, Guinness, Jameson and Baileys. The celebration will bring out the inner Irish in all attendees with special Irish-themed menu items including corned beef and cabbage, corned beef sandwiches, lamb stew, Guinness shrimp and corned beef sliders, in addition to the famous $1.95 bar menu.

McCormick & Schmick’s will also fete the city’s cab drivers with its sixth annual St. Cabby’s Day celebration offering a complimentary buffet breakfast complete with green eggs and ham and Lucky Charms cereal between 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. to cab drivers. The drivers can stop by the restaurant anytime before 5 p.m. to pick up a special gift certificate. Each cab driver with a valid a TA card will be given one certificate while supplies last.

Station Casinos Announces Upcoming Boulder Blues Performers

The free series takes place every Thursday from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. inside The Railhead featuring some of the country’s best blues musicians on a rotating schedule. Guests must be 21 years or older.

March 11 – Scott Holt
Blues guitar virtuoso Scott Holt got his start with the help of blues legend Buddy Guy, whose band he played in for 10 years. In the last decade, Holt has released numerous solo albums and has worked with artists such as Little Feat, Tab Benoit, Mitch Mitchell and Tommy Shannon.

March 18 – Jason Ricci & New Blood
Jason Ricci & New Blood have been performing a mixture of blues, rock, funk, jazz fusion, punk, carnival, psychedelic and performance art together for more than seven years. Ricci has won numerous awards including the Muddy Waters Award for Most Promising New Talent and The Blues Critic’s award for “Harmonica Player of the Year.”

March 25 – Chris Duarte
Chris Duarte, who is often compared to the late Stevie Ray Vaughn, performs an average of 200 shows a year, delivering his own style of Texas blues-rock fused with an element of jazz. His critically-acclaimed debut album came out in 1994 and he has subsequently released six albums, all supported by touring. His latest album, 396, was released in 2009.

April 1 – Michael Burks
Michael “Iron Man” Burks is a guitarist, vocalist and songwriter whose musical style has deep roots in blues. In 1997, Burks released his first album, From the Inside Out, which immediately garnered accolades from the blues community. The album was followed by 2001′s Make It Rain, 2003′s I Smell Smoke and 2008′s Iron Man.

‘One Humanity Concert’ For Haiti Will Be A Marathon Concert In The Las Vegas Rocks Showroom

Lou Ragland of the Ink Spots is taking up the cause for Haiti relief by organizing a marathon concert with continuous top headlining entertainment on Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, from 2 p.m. until midnight at the Las Vegas Rocks Showroom downtown. Ticket donations are $20 and good for 10 hours of live entertainment, call 702-648-0383 or 702-227-5872.

Signed up so far to perform are fellow entertainers: World Famous Ink Spots, Billy Hunt, Original Cornell Guntner Coasters, Ned Towns, Paul Stubblefield, Dean Courtney, Eddie Perrell, Rachael Kapp & 3D, Lambus Dean, Gents of Swing, Elegant Diversity, Tony Sacca, Ramon Scruggs, Carolyn Walden and Phil Flower. This will be the first of many concerts.

Money will go to the non-profit Nevada Entertainment Training Program headed by Tom Rideout to assist in getting relatives together in both countries and to bring immigrants to Las Vegas and set them up in real estate and a new life with promise. The goal is to get Haitians out of the squalor.
