Fremont Street Experience is calling all cowboys and country music fans for the 24th Annual Downtown Hoedown — celebrating the return of the National Finals Rodeo — on Wednesday, December 1. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and showcases popular country music entertainment with free live concerts on three stages. All are invited to Dosey Doe downtown and enjoy the feel good country music acts amongst the neon lights of the Fremont Street Experience.

The 24th Annual Downtown Hoedown will have everyone two stepping with its entertainment lineup which includes top country music talents: Jack Ingram, Randy Rogers Band, Eli Young Band, Trailer Choir, Stealing Angels, Kevin Fowler, Jason Jones and Brett Eldredge.

Eli Young Band
The Eli Young Band truly highlights youth and hard work. All the elements of passion, energy, and excitement are what the Eli Young Band showcase in their music. Band members Mike Eli on vocals, James Young on guitar, Jon Jones on bass, and Chris Thompson on the drums all make the unique modern country and solid roots-rock music. The Eli Young Band knows what it means to work hard having met in college it took eight years for them to climb the ladder of success in the country music industry. However, hard work pays off. “When it Rains”, their first single soon began climbing its way up the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart and became the longest running single on the country music chart. Randy Rogers Band
The Texas born and bred Randy Rogers Band have the reputation of road-warrior kings. They spent the earlier part of their career traveling to various bars and dives across the American West. Now they open for Willie Nelson and have even made appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Show with David Letterman. More recently two of their albums have made it into the Top 5 on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart. With two American Country Music awards nominations for best Vocal Group of the Year the Randy Rogers Band can say that hard work pays off. Jack Ingram

Stealing Angels

Jason Jones

Brett Eldredge
From the moment his cousin asked him to sing on stage with him at the historic bluegrass venue, Station Inn, Brett Eldredge knew that he was born to have a career in country music. Eventually, his smoky baritone voice and superb song writing skills landed him a record deal with Atlantic Records. As a singer and songwriter he has written songs for country greats such as Bill Anderson and has even opened for Blake Shelton. With songs like “Raymond” he leaves his audiences with chills.

Champion NASCAR Driver Taylor Barton will host a celebrity poker tournament for charity. The tournament, which will be held at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas on Dec. 4, will benefit the Taylor Barton Foundation, which focuses on stopping bullying in America’s schools, as well as Children Mending Hearts, which assists homeless and at-risk youth around the world. Barton has invited some of his fellow NASCAR drivers and celebrity friends to join him for the kick-off event, which will also host many poker pros and more than 400 other guests.

Tournament participants will partake in a night of poker and attend an after party at the Palms Casino Resort. Tournament prizes will include:

1st place: A seat at 2011 World Series of Poker, sponsored by Lord Griffon Jewelry.

2nd place: Two nights’ accommodation at the Palms Casino Resort with dinner for two, massage at spa, and VIP entrance to Palms Casino Resort nightclubs (includes $1,000 for airfare).

Description: Former “Nashville Star” contestant Jason Meadows’ recent album 100 Percent Cowboy is a perfect description of Meadows: a straight-shooting, no-nonsense, what-you-see-is-what-you-get kind of guy who was raised on hard work, fresh air, sunshine and plenty of dust on his boots.

After becoming the lead singer of the Rowdy Country Band when he was just 16 years old, Meadows later joined another band, Heart Talk, and began playing regionally all around the Southwest. He began receiving encouragement from all sides to make the move to Nashville but when a famous fellow Oklahoman, Reba McEntire, gave him the thumbs up, he finally received the push he needed to move to Music City.

A few years after moving to Nashville, Sony heard Meadows and the label approached him about auditioning for the television talent competition “Nashville Star.” Meadows auditioned and appeared on the third season of the show and built a great fan following, although he didn’t win first place. After some time with another project, he returned to the studio to record his new project.

These special performances coincide with the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo which takes place from Dec. 2 – 11, 2010. NFR is in its 52nd year of bringing a little bit of country to Sin City and is a chance for fans to get in on the action of the rodeo, as well as attend events such as concerts, comedic performances, autograph sessions and more.
