Imperial Palace Las Vegas welcomes The King’s Ransom Museum, a one of a kind exhibit of Elvis Presley artifacts and priceless personal treasures, on Oct. 21, 2009. This multi-million dollar collection is on display for the first time ever in Las Vegas, the very city where The King set up court and reigned supreme in the 1970′s.

The King’s Ransom Museum provides an exciting opportunity for fans to get a rare glimpse into the life and career of one of the world’s greatest entertainers, Elvis Presley. Showcasing pieces from both Elvis’ personal life and his acting and singing careers, The King’s Ransom Museum is truly unlike any other exhibit. Items include: Elvis’ 1977 Lincoln Continental, stage and film wardrobe, personal clothing items, jewelry, guns, badges and a variety of Elvis’ law enforcement objects, personal artifacts from his Graceland home including the Bible that was on his nightstand when he passed away and many more items encompassing Elvis’ life and career from the 1950′s through the 1970′s.

The King’s Ransom Museum is located in the Imperial Palace’s Royal Halls, on the third floor of the casino. The exhibit is open seven days a week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and admission is $10. Tickets may be purchased at the door or online at www.imperialpalace.com. The King’s Ransom Museum is scheduled to remain at Imperial Palace until April 2010.

The restaurant is a unique blend of classical and modern elements, an intriguing combination that permeates both the dining room and the kitchen. A few steps from the hostess stand is a plush, seductive lounge and bar, which are complemented by chic bar stools and a wall of purple-tinted mirrors.  Adjacent to the lounge is the main dining room, illuminated by dramatic LED Swarovski crystal chandeliers hanging from a multi-vaulted ceiling covered in high-gloss brass-and-steel mosaic.  A private dining room is slightly elevated, but a mezzanine level provides the most dramatic views of the entire restaurant.

WHAT:

97.1 The Point is hosting a Rock ‘n’ Roll Fashion Show as part of Hard Rock Cafe’s PINKTOBER Campaign, raising funds and awareness for Breast Cancer treatment and research. The fashion show will feature catwalks by Las Vegas celebrity personalities including Kim Wagner and Alicia Jacobs of KVBC-TV, Rachel Smith and Heidi Hayes of KVVU-TV, Dayna Roselli of KLAS-TV, Lisa Remillard of KTNV-TV and entertainer Marley Taylor from Zowie Bowie. The celebrities will pair up with breast cancer survivors and model the hottest fashions from local boutiques.

The first 97 people in attendance will receive a PINKTOBER Rock ‘n’ Roll Fashion Show bag filled with goodies from local sponsors such as delicious cupcakes from The Cupcakery. There will also be raffle giveaways throughout the evening, in addition to a silent auction. The fashion show will be followed by a live concert by Australian singer/songwriter sensation Lenka.

Three course market menu available at $45 and updated weekly for seasonal, decadent dining

Simon at Palms Place invites guests to experience three courses from the new Market Menu and enjoy a tasting of Chef Kerry Simon’s finest dishes for just $45.

The Market Menu changes each Saturday so diners experience new seasonal tastings every week. Rock-n-roll chef Kerry Simon uses his signature style and flair to create an affordable menu that guests can enjoy in the main dining area with floor to ceiling views of the Palms Place pool or pair with cocktails and relax on the comfortable, modern couches in the lounge. Guests can select from a variety of choices for each course and find a suggested wine or sake pairing for all menu items.

The following menu begins Saturday, October 24 and will run through Friday, October 30. Choices of seasonal items available include:

First course choices include: Roasted Peach and Lipstick Pepper Salad with sopressata, ricotta, kenter canyon farms arugula and lemon chili vinaigrette; Stone Crab Claws with cocktail sauce and whole grain mustard sauce; Five Onion Soup with sweet onions, pretzel bread crouton and baked fontina cheese.

Second course choices include: Braised Heritage Pork with parmesan gnocchi and a porcini mushroom broth; Habanero Marinated Wagyu Flat Iron with soy and lime, wok tossed broccolini and jasmine rice.

Third course includes: Apple Tart Tartin with creme fraiche ice cream.

Simon at Palms Place is open seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. serving Chef Kerry Simon’s takes on American breakfast, lunch and dinner.
