In a special promotion with Miller Lite, the Palms Casino Resort and N9NE Group, hip-hop superstar and R&B favorite Ludacris will perform a special concert at the Palms Pool & Bungalows Friday, August 21, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. Complimentary tickets will be given away with specially marked packaging of 18-packs of Miller Lite.

Grammy award-winning artist Chris “Ludacris” Bridges remains one of the top visionaries of the hip-hop world. His latest album Theater Of The Mind (2008) continues to push the Atlanta-based entertainer to the top of the charts. Location. The El Cortez Hotel and Casino is located in a pre-Strip 1940s building once owned by mobster Bugsy Siegal in Las Vegas, Nev. The hotel is one block from Neonopolis and two blocks from Fremont Street Experience. The Las Vegas Strip is two miles away.

WHO: Toad the Wet Sprocket, an alternative rock band best known for their hits “All I Want” and “Walk on the Ocean.”

First formed in 1986 their mellow, melodic folk-pop sound made them one of the most successful alternative rock bands of the early 1990s. Though officially broken up since 1998, the foursome has worked together off and on over the years. In May of 2009 they played a four show mini-tour. Positive crowd response brought them together for a second 12-stop mini tour this summer.

WHAT: Voodoo Beach’s rockin’ summer concert series. The poolside shows take place one Thursday per month from through September. Free and open to the public, based on capacity, guests must be 18 and older with valid ID.

Wynn Las Vegas and Encore are excited to announce the Single Ladies Dance Contest, offering Beyoncé fans and dancing divas the chance to win coveted tickets to her “I AM…YOURS” concert in the intimate Encore Theater.

Tryst Nightclub invites groups of three dancers to compete in the qualifying round on Saturday, July 25 at 6 p.m. The final round will be held on Thursday, July 30. A panel of judges will choose the prize winners based on originality, execution, costumes and overall “fierce” factor.

The winning trio will receive three front row tickets to Beyoncé, a resort room for the night, pre-show pampering at the salon and a VIP table at Tryst. Second place dancers will receive three tickets and a VIP table at Tryst, third place group will receive a Beyoncé gift bag valued at $500.

Contestants should pre-register by calling (702) 770-7115. Registration for the qualifying round on Thursday, July 25 at Tryst will start promptly at 6 p.m. All contestants must be over 21 and show valid ID at the door. Dance must be to the first 60 seconds of “Single Ladies” by Beyoncé. Music will be provided. Each group should have three dancers. Attire is nightclub fashion chic. Australian rock group, Little River Band, will perform at The Club inside Cannery Casino & Hotel on Saturday, August 1 at 8 p.m.

Little River Band was the first Australian band to maintain commercial success in the United States. In 1976, after the release of their self-titled debut album, the long grind of 13 U.S. tours in eight years began. By 1982, Little River Band became the only act to have a top 10 U.S. single for six consecutive years. Headlining their own major shows in America and touring internationally with the likes of the Doobie Brothers, Supertramp, America and the Eagles, was a huge learning curve that honed Little River Band into one of the finest live bands in the world. All-told, Little River Band has notched up eight top 10 singles in the U.S. including “Reminiscing,” “Lady,” “Cool Change,” “Lonesome Loser,” “Take It Easy On Me” and “Help Is On Its Way.”

El Cortez Hotel & Casino in downtown Las Vegas rewards active duty U.S. military personnel with a $15 dining credit valid at The Flame Steakhouse and Café Cortez every day in August.

Individuals must present their military ID at the Club Cortez to receive their Certificate of Appreciation that can be redeemed at the property’s restaurants.  Individuals are limited to one dining credit per day during August and no minimum purchase is required.

The Flame Steakhouse now features Idaho trout flown in fresh weekly for the Friday and Saturday night dinner special. The Idaho trout is served Amandine style and is only $16.95.  The Flame Steakhouse offers the finest prime rib with a variety of hand-cut steaks, chicken and fresh seafood entrees.  The steakhouse is open daily from 4 to 10 p.m.

Dinner specials at the Café Cortez include a prime rib dinner with soup or salad for $7.95 It also offers a fajita dinner for $8.95.  Café Cortez is open 24 hours a day and features burgers, sandwiches, steaks and chicken.  Chinese specialties are cooked to order between 4 and 10 p.m. daily.
