Sahara Offers 50% Off Speed – Finish The NASCAR Café’s New Colossal “Bomb” Burrito To Receive Two Free Ride Passes

The Sahara Hotel & Casino is offering special deals for Nevada locals and military personnel to kick off the reopening of Speed – The Ride for the 2009 spring/summer season.  Throughout the month of March, Nevada locals can enjoy Speed – The Ride, the hottest and most adventurous thrill ride in Las Vegas, for 50% off.  In addition, throughout March, military personnel can experience this twisting and turning journey at 20% off.

Looking for more ways to get your thrills?  Anyone who can finish the NASCAR Café’s brand new “The Bomb” Burrito will receive two free passes to Speed – The Ride.  Weighing in at 6 pounds and being two-feet in length, “The Bomb” is smothered with guacamole, sour cream and cheese.  It’s not just packed with a variety of mouth-watering flavors, its eye-boggling entertainment.

Seasoned roller coaster lovers and adventurous first-timers will love every thrill, turn, and hair-raising chill on this state-of-the-art roller coaster.  The need for speed begins inside the NASCAR Cafe, where an extraordinary electromagnetic force slingshots the coaster out of its launch site and over the first hill at breathtaking speeds. A steep drop follows as passengers plummet 25 feet below the surface through a misty underground tunnel before catapulting back above the ground and through a breathtaking loop.

The coaster then accelerates from 35 mph to 70 mph in just two seconds as it whips through the Sahara’s 192-foot-tall marquee. Then, just before curving around the porte-cochere and up a dramatically steep incline, it stops 224 feet above the ground, carrying passengers back through the same exhilarating path, only this time in reverse. Get ready to scream! And don’t forget to check out your souvenir photo once the ride is over.

A single coaster ride is $10 ($5 for locals; $8 for military throughout March; valid Monday through Thursday on single passes; one per person per day).  Hours of operation are 12 noon to 10 p.m. seven days a week.  There is minimum height requirement of 54 inches.

The Sahara has several other fantastic NASCAR attractions including:

The Las Vegas Cyber Speedway provides the most heart pounding and realistic simulated race car driving experience in the world with NASCAR vehicles reaching speeds as high as 220mph.

The NASCAR Racewear Shop is a complete logo-merchandise store that has the largest selection of NASCAR products on the West Coast, including over 200 NASCAR driver caps as well as a wide selection of driver jackets for kids and adults.

The Pit Pass Arcade packed with more than 120 player stations, redemption and standard video games.

The late Dale Earnhardt’s #3 car is on display and is a favorite photo-op for fans.

The NASCAR Café offers tasty American favorites such as burgers, steaks, ribs, barbecue chicken, Buffalo wings, pasta and pizza.

Attraction ticket prices are as follows: Speed – The Ride ($10); Cyber Speedway ($10); Combo Ride (One Cyber Speedway/One Speed – The Ride – $17.95); Unlimited Pass (All day pass for Cyber Speedway & Speed – The Ride – $22.95); Super Package (Unlimited Speed – The Ride, Unlimited Cyber Speedway, $5 Arcade Tokens, 1 Souvenir Speed photo – $28.95).

“The Bomb” Burrito is just one of many new and better menu items available to order by the pound at the NASCAR Café.  Ordering “The Bomb” comes with a challenge: finish it, and it is FREE. Anyone who can belly up and finish “The Bomb” also takes home a t-shirt proclaiming that they have “Conquered The Bomb.”  Champions that cross that finish line will have their picture taken and placed on the Winners’ Wall in addition to their two free Speed – The Ride passes. There is one important disclaimer; if you don’t finish “The Bomb,” you’ll have a picture taken with a t-shirt proclaiming you’re a “Weenie,” which is available only in one size, one color: extra small, pink.

The NASCAR Café had also revamped its draft beer program.  In addition to 12 regular draft offerings, the Café will feature rotating handles.  The most recent addition to the lineup is Rogue Brewing Co.’s Chocolate Stout.  The chocolate flavor provided by Dutch chocolate balances with the Cascade Hops for a bittersweet finish.

The NASCAR Cafe is the perfect place for fans to enjoy a cold beer and a juicy burger in a comfortable atmosphere, while watching his/her favorite sport on big screen TVs with state-of-the-art surround sound bringing NASCAR races, baseball and all sport events to life.
