The Cultural Diversity Foundation Is Sponsoring The 14th Annual Wine Tasting, Spirits & Jazz Scholarship Fundraiser

The 14th annual Educational Taste of Excellence: Wine Tasting, Spirits & Jazz event will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the Paris Las vegas, Champagne Ballroom from 6-10 pm. The event is sponsored by Harrah’s Entertainment, Lee’s Discount Liquor, and Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada. Tickets are $50.00 in advance, $55.00 at the door. Tickets can be purchased online, and will be available at Lee’s Discount Liquor in February or by calling CDF at (702) 646-2615.

The Cultural Diversity Foundation (CDF) and the Cultural Diversity Scholarship Committee have planned this multicultural gala as a way to raise funding to help students achieve their educational goals and to recognize scholarship recipients for their academic achievement in higher education.

From 1996 to 2008, the fundraiser has grossed over $725,000 in revenue and in-kind services and awarded over 90 scholarships ranging from $500 to $4000. The 13th annual scholarship benefit held in March 2008 raised over $145,000 in revenue and in-kind services.
In addition, we had over 85 donors participate in the event.
Partial fundraiser proceeds were used to fund eight scholarships sponsored by the CDF and the Cultural Diversity Scholarship Committee  for college bound
students to attend the College of Southern Nevada, and a college of their choice.

Fundraiser Highlights
Wine Tasting: Guests will be dressed in understated elegant evening attire while sampling over 110 domestic and imported wines from over 25 wineries

Art display: A variety of artwork from nationally and internationally known artists will be displayed at the event.

Live and Silent Auction: Guests will be given the opportunity to bid on items donated by various hotels & casinos, airlines, restaurants, golf and ski resorts, etc.

Live Jazz: Guests will be entertained by live jazz artists

Hors D’oeuvres: Guests will enjoy a cornucopia of hors d’oeuvres
and cheeses that compliment the wines.

Tickets are $12 for non-members, $10 for members, $6.50 for children. The event will run from 7 PM – 8:30 PM.
